Suri alpacas

Suri is an alpaca breed, the number of which is less than 5% (about 120 thousand individuals) of the total number of these animals in the world (more than 3 million).

The fleece of this breed of animals is one of the most expensive in the world (valued at 2 times more expensive than Huacaya alpaca), more expensive than silk and slightly inferior to cashmere. In former times, Suri alpaca fleece was used in making clothes exclusively for royal families and nobility.

The fleece grows in the form of dreadlocks, due to which the animals look very unusual and beautiful. When alpacas move, the fleece flutters in the wind, resembling hair.
