Alpaca Suri

Suri is a breed of alpaca, the number of which is less than 5% (about 120 thousand individuals) of the total number of these animals in the world (more than 3 million).

The wool of this animal breed is one of the most expensive in the world (estimated at 2 times more expensive than Huacaya alpaca), more expensive than silk and slightly inferior to cashmere. In earlier times, Suri alpaca wool was used to make clothing exclusively for royal families and nobility.

The hair grows in the form of braids-dreadlocks, which is why the animals look very unusual and beautiful. When alpacas move, the wool flutters in the wind, resembling hair.
